π‘ Before you join
- Join only with people you trust: a committee has no legal protection if someone stops paying after taking the pot.
- Write down the members, turns and dates, and share the list with everyone.
- If you need the money early, ask for an early turn; if you just want to save, a bank or National Savings account pays profit.

Questions people ask
How does a committee (BC) work?+
A group pays the same amount every month and each month one member takes the whole pot, until everyone has had a turn. With 10 members paying Rs 10,000, the pot is Rs 1 lakh.
Is the first or last turn better?+
The first turn is like an interest-free loan; the last is like saving with no profit. If you don't need the money early, a bank would pay you profit instead.
